Why I built ApplianceOps.
I'm Nick. I ran The Appliance Guys LLC in Lancaster, California, and I've spent nearly two decades on appliance calls — Samsung fridges, LG washers, Whirlpool dishwashers, commercial ice machines, you name it.
When I started growing the business, I tried everything on the market — Jobber, Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan demos, spreadsheets, Google Calendar, a notebook in the truck. None of them worked the way appliance repair actually works.
Jobber doesn't know the difference between a residential washer and a commercial ice machine. Housecall Pro has no field for a warranty-company work-order number. ServiceTitan costs more per month than some of my techs' truck payments.
So I built ApplianceOps. Every single feature exists because I needed it on a real service call. The dispatch board works the way I actually dispatch. The invoices have the fields I actually fill in. The price book knows a Samsung refrigerator service call is a different animal from an LP gas conversion.
The AI diagnosis? I built it because I got tired of Googling error codes in customers' kitchens — now I tap a button and get the likely causes, part numbers, and costs in seconds. The photo-to-form intake? Warranty dispatch emails are miserable to retype, so now I photograph the work order and the AI fills in the customer, address, machine, and issue.
This isn't software from a team that's never seen the inside of a condenser coil. It's built by a shop that was on a Samsung fridge call yesterday. There's no translation layer between the people who need it and the people who ship it — ask for something and it goes into the work, not onto a roadmap you never hear about again.
ApplianceOps is made by ApplianceOps Software LLC, and it's not the only thing we make. The same problem shows up in every trade where one person does the work, quotes it, invoices it and chases the money from a phone — so we built Mobile Detail Pro for mobile auto detailers. Same understanding of the day, rebuilt around what's specific to that trade: pricing by the size of the vehicle, before-and-after photos as proof of work, a second car added halfway through the job.
