Windows shows that warning for any program whose publisher it has not seen enough times before.
It is not a virus scan and it is not telling you the file is unsafe — it is telling you the
publisher is unfamiliar to it. We are a small shop-software company and we are working through
the certificate that removes the warning, but we would rather explain it honestly than have you
wonder. If you would rather not proceed, the browser version does everything the desktop app
does apart from the Windows notifications.
If you run the office from a PC, these are the differences. If you live on your phone, you can skip it entirely — nothing is missing from the phone.

Not one tab among twenty. It does not get closed by accident when someone tidies up the browser, and it is on the taskbar where the person answering the phone can find it.

The Play Store listing is on its way. You do not have to wait for it — open ApplianceOps in Chrome on the phone, tap the menu ⋮ and choose Install app. That puts the same app on your home screen today, and it works with no signal.
In Safari, tap Share and choose Add to Home Screen. Worth doing even if you like the browser: on an iPhone, alerts only work in the home-screen app — Apple does not allow them in a Safari tab at all.
There is no separate Mac download and you do not need one — the full app runs in Safari or Chrome. For alerts, choose File → Add to Dock in Safari. macOS will not notify an ordinary browser tab.

Windows 10 and Windows 11, 64-bit. It does not run on Windows 7 or 8, and there is no 32-bit build. If you are on an older machine, use the browser version — it works fine.
Yes. Antivirus tools flag unfamiliar installers by reputation rather than content, and a small publisher's new release has little reputation yet. The file is served straight from our release page over HTTPS. If your antivirus quarantines it, restore it from the quarantine list and run it again — and if you would rather not, the browser version loses you nothing but the Windows notifications.
No, and this is the point of it. The app checks for updates by itself, downloads them in the background, and asks you before restarting. It will not restart itself while you are working.
Yes — the office PC, the back room, a laptop at home. Bear in mind ApplianceOps signs you in on one device at a time, so signing in on the second one signs the first one out.
