Two big ones in beta this week: take cards through the Square account you already have, and keep your Google Calendar and ApplianceOps in step both ways. Plus payroll taxes for every state our shops work in, parts from the order to the return, and warranty jobs where the customer only ever sees their share.

Already on Square? Keep It.

Plenty of you were taking cards on Square long before you found us, and switching processors is a pain nobody needs. So you do not have to. Connect your own Square account and ApplianceOps takes cards through it.

💳
Your Square, inside the appBeta
Settings → Integrations → Connect Square. Sign in to Square, and from then on a customer paying an invoice by card is paying through your Square account. The money goes where it always went, and chargebacks stay between you and Square.
📈
Payments, refunds and payouts in one placeBeta
A Square payment shows up on the job and in the ledger like any other. Refunds go back through Square from the job. The Payments page has a 🟦 Square tab for your payouts, and a dispute lands in your morning briefing instead of a mailbox you never check.
⚖️
Stripe or Square — you pick one
A shop runs one card processor, not two, so the customer never gets a choice they do not understand. On Stripe and happy? Nothing changes for you.

Your Google Calendar, Both Ways

A lot of you live in Google Calendar — the dentist, the kids, the other business. Now it and ApplianceOps stay in step, in both directions.

📅
Every job lands on your calendarBeta
Book, move, reassign or cancel a job — from the office, the booking page, Lacy or the text-back — and it shows up on the Google calendar you pick within seconds, at the right time and length.
⛔
Your busy time stops getting bookedBeta
Anything else on that calendar marked busy becomes a block in ApplianceOps. Lacy, the text-back and your booking page stop offering that time. Put the dentist in Google at 2 PM and nobody gets booked at 2 PM.
👈
Drag it in Google, it moves in ApplianceOpsBeta
Move one of your jobs in Google and the job moves here too. Delete one by mistake and it comes back — cancelling is done in ApplianceOps, where the customer, the tech and the money are.

Payroll Taxes for Every State You Work In

🧾
Withholding on every stub
Federal, plus state withholding for every state our shops work in — including the neighbors that honor each other’s tax (MD, VA, PA, WV), and a tech who lives in one state and works in another.
📑
The numbers your accountant asks for
Reports → Payroll taxes lays out what goes on the 941, the 940, your state return and the W-2 boxes, built from the weeks you confirmed. A confirmed week can post to QuickBooks as one journal entry.
👤
An owner takes a draw
Beside W-2 and 1099 there is a third choice: owner draw. Pay yourself without pretending you are an employee.

Parts, From the Order to the Return

The parts side of the shop, start to finish. The 📦 Parts tab now sits right next to Board and New.

💲
Markup does the math
Put in what a part cost you and the price fills in from your markup — on the Parts page and on a job’s part lines.
↩️
Returns that do not get lost
Send a part back to the vendor and track the credit. Take back a counter sale. A part pulled off a job lands in Returns with the job it came from.
🚚
A part for a job with no van
Pick up a part for a job nobody has a truck assigned to and it waits in “Picked up — waiting to go out” instead of disappearing as a counter sale.

Warranty Jobs, Fees and Credits

🧾
The customer only sees their share
On a split-billed warranty job the customer never sees the whole invoice — just what they owe — and gets a receipt for their payment only, by email or by text.
💰
A diagnostic that counts toward the repair
Charge a diagnostic with no machine attached, and when they go ahead with the repair, a diagnostic credit takes it back off — without Reports counting the money twice. A refund the customer no longer owes comes off the invoice and the commission too.

Smaller Things on the Board

Three Switches, Just Ask

On the business line? Reply and I will flip any of these on for you.

💳 Paying us is simpler too. Pay your subscription and AI Dispatch by card or by PayPal — pick one once, and that is the only one you will see.

See Something, Say Something

$20 for Every Shop That Signs On

$20
Once they pay month one

Know another shop owner who’d like this? Have them put your shop’s name or email in the “Were you referred?” box when they sign up. Once they pay their first month, you get $20 — no cap. They get a full month free instead of two weeks, and we waive the Business Line setup fee if they want a phone (they still cover the number itself).

Help the Next Shop Find Us

If ApplianceOps has made your week easier, a quick review is the single biggest thing you can do for us — it is how other repair shops find it. One honest line is plenty. Review us on Google, or pick whichever you already have an account on at applianceops.pro/reviews. And if something is not right, please tell me first instead.
